Above is my my basic idea for the second series of t-shirts for an AU based label I’m currently working with. This one is an illo of Missy Higgins I did years ago (a friend suggested I made her look a little retarded, but don’t think it’s too bad - sorry Missy!), but with the addition of bold type as an overlay I think it’s bringing on quite an edgy, ‘Karen Walker’/80’s flavour. The intention is to draw a few more musicians - Raphael Saadiq, Flying Lotus and KOS to name a few, then follow on with this theme somehow. I considered using lyrics, but I think that’s far too complex esp. in the area of copyright.

This is where I’m at for a logo design for a new t-shirt label called STOC. The concept for the label is great: five designers submit five designs to any theme they like and viola, out pops a boutique fashion forward collection of designers tees. As one of the five designers I’m very much looking forward to the creative journey and learning more about apparel printing!

Ah ha! What a brilliant and super sneaky idea these are! If you are like me and the thought of putting your precious lunch in the office fridge is like sending it down a massive black hole into a pit of squabbling deformed rats, then this might be the perfect solution for you!
Pack your self up with a few at the Lost At E Minor store.

Wowsers check out this new shoe design from Ash - heeled distressed denim sneaker with fray, rip and stud detailing. Combining the lace up sneaker with a 4 inch heel is just fantastic. Check them out here.

This is what I ended up with as a logo design for Sydney based DJ Adam Lance. We decided on a basic, easily decipherable logo for use on the base of posters etc wherein the real estate would be minimal, then a very abstract rendition for more creative personal promotions.

This is the new necklace I just got delivered from NJ, USA based fashion designers Pyknic. Fantastic right? I LOVE food, so putting it closer to my heart is a rather appropriate next step I think. Wicked illo of the guys behind the brand too - The Chef and The Butcher. I was at a gourmet food magazine launch recently and I wore this to get in the spirit (and to match the aesthetic of the articles I designed). Very nerd-burger, I know. However, guess who came over to make a point of appreciation? - none other than “G’Day I’m Peter Russel-Clarke”. Check out more designs from Pyknic.

So because I was seriously bored today and could not focus on one thing I had to do, I ended up finding this interesting example of a comparison between an old TV ad and a new one. Check them both out - it’s fascinating just how abstract things are getting.

I was asked by L.A-based Cornerstone Records to design Gift Of Gab’s latest EP, Escape 2 Mars. The brief was to feature a Mayan Skull on the front and some sort of Mars landscape on the back. Despite what ended up happening to it all, I really do like this version and am glad to have experienced talking to the artist and getting a different kind of brief.

This the packaging I designed for a new skin care range represented by Australian Super Model, Miranda Kerr. I also helped come up with the name KORA, I designed the logos and developed concepts for the rest of the branding and website. Although the product is organic skincare and would lend itself to more natural muted tones, we ended up going with an aqua to reflect the purity of the ingredients and to distinguish between it and competing brands. Overall the project took over a year to develop so it was a huge effort and commitment - it’s been a huge lesson in how long these things actually take. I have finally seen the final packaging result and I’m really happy with it. Studio-shot photos coming soon.

Here is the first result of a logo design I’m trying to nut out at the moment. I did large amount of sketching using a got grid book and now I’m in the Illustrator stage. It’s a logo for an electro DJ so it can afford to be a little abstract, although right now it’s driving me nuts as I’m trying to retain the edge but also keep it readable. Now it’s time to take a break and come back with fresh eyes later.
