Bloody Awesome

Loving the UK film ‘Dead Set‘ for a tad bit of zombie action. Watch it in one or as 5 episodes. Anyone interested in fresh chunks of gore? Check it out.

Stuck on Saadiq

Saturday, January 17th, 2009

Another great artist I have been tuning into lately is the legendary Raphael Saadiq. Loving his latest solo release ‘The Way I See It’, in particular the tracks ‘100 Yard Dash’ and ‘Big Easy’. This talented producer and former member of Toni Tony Tone has gone right back in time to the 60’s and 70’s to get inspiration for an album I have a feeling I’ll have on repeat for a while :) Check it out on his official site.

Mix and Bake

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

I have been getting through my work days with ease recently with help from a rad music site called newmixes.com. This nifty little gravy pot holds the opportunity to experience some fantastic mixes of anything from dub step to progressive. More recently, the mixes from the most fabulous Flying Lotus, Mary Anne Hobbs and Rusko are getting my creative juices flowing like nothing else. Get in there and listen for yourself.

Where Were You Last Night?

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

While trawling through the isles at Berkelouw Books the other day I came across the perfect dirty party reference ‘Last Night’s Party’, a book of images by American photographer Merlin Bronques. I have been pushing my event designs in this direction for the past few months so this is proving to be a fab source of inspiration. Even for those who need help piecing together an outfit to don on their next night of debauchery. See Merlin’s website for more.
