DJ Logo Design

February 1st, 2010

This is what I ended up with as a logo design for Sydney based DJ Adam Lance. We decided on a basic, easily decipherable logo for use on the base of posters etc wherein the real estate would be minimal, then a very abstract rendition for more creative personal promotions.

Culinary Bling

This is the new necklace I just got delivered from NJ, USA based fashion designers Pyknic. Fantastic right? I LOVE food, so putting it closer to my heart is rather cool as the next step I think. Pretty cool illo of the guys behind the brand too. Check out more designs from Pyknic.

Loving it.

So because I was seriously bored today and could not focus on one thing I had to do, I ended up finding this interesting example of a comparison between an old TV ad and a new one. Check them both out - it’s fascinating just how abstract things are getting.

Gift Of Gab Album Design

January 12th, 2010

I was asked by L.A-based Cornerstone Records to design Gift Of Gab’s latest EP, Escape 2 Mars. The brief was to feature a Mayan Skull on the front and some sort of Mars landscape on the back. Despite what ended up happening to it all, I really do like this version and am glad to have experienced talking to the artist and getting a different kind of brief.

Packaging Design :: KORA By Miranda Kerr

January 12th, 2010

This the packaging I designed for a new skin care range represented by Australian Super Model, Miranda Kerr. Although the product is organic skin care and would lend itself to more natural muted tones, we ended up going with an aqua to reflect the purity of the ingredients. Overall the project took over a year to develop so it was a huge effort and commitment. Although I have not actually seen the product on stands yet there has been light promotion in magazines. Feedback so far has been that the product itself is not great as a skin care, but I’m sure Miranda’s face will sell enough to make her rich(er).

Logo Design Development

November 28th, 2009

Here is the first result of a logo design I’m trying to nut out at the moment. I did large amount of sketching using a got grid book and now I’m in the Illustrator stage. It’s a logo for an electro DJ so it can afford to be a little abstract, although right now it’s driving me nuts as I’m trying to retain the edge but also keep it readable. Now it’s time to take a break and come back with fresh eyes later.

New York Delft

November 9th, 2009

Dang I love this New York inspired adaption of traditional Dutch Delft by lovegrove & repucci. Each place setting is made of fine porcelain and has five pieces; a dinner plate, side plate, soup bowl, cup and saucer. Check it.

Some typographic approaches to a magazine cover I’m working on. I have been through about 6 developed concepts so far, 3 more to go. That’s about right for a proper process though I suppose.

Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia

October 26th, 2009

Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia cast

So I’m like 10 years behind and only just finished Season 3 of this wacky series, first aired in 2005. Created and developed by Rob McElhenney (stars as Mack), Glenn Howerton (Dennis), and Charlie Day (Charlie), it has been described by most as the new age Seinfeld - although this gang’s exploits are far more raw, pink and hairy than Jerry’s ever could be. Yes, they are horrible, self-centered people that turn on each other every which way but you can’t help but laugh at them along the way. Great escapism, give it a gander.
